Posted on 12:08pm Wednesday 30th May 2012 Kim Kardashian has accused British Airways of taking a pair of ‘priceless’ sunglasses she inherited from her late father Robert. Upon touching down in Los Angeles, Kim thought her luggage was feeling significantly lighter, and checked the contents, finding the sunglasses which her father gave to her before his death in 2003 were missing.
Apparently several other expensive items were also taken. Kim had put on Twitter: “Very disappointed in British Airways for opening my luggage & taking some special items of mine! Some things are sentimental ¬ replaceable. What happened to the days when you could lock your bags! We need to get back to that. There’s no sense of security & no trust! Shame on you”
Kim is now said to have approached BA to look into the apparent theft by analysing CCTV footage, and it is believed that if they do not provide a satisfactory response, she will take the matter to the police.
Posted on 5:38pm Tuesday 29th May 2012 At least 15 people were killed and some 200 injured in a 5.8-magnitude earthquake in northern Italy today, Italian news agency ANSA reported. The earthquake came 9 days after a 6.0-magnitude quake in the same region killed seven people.
The Italian government has confirmed at least 10 people have died in the disaster, with the number most likely going to rise as rescue workers search for survivors in the rubble. Numerous people are still missing in the province of Modena, where the earthquake struck.
Eyewitnesses reported on Twitter that Cavezzo was about 70% destroyed. Authorities are already working to set up more tent camps to house those forced from their homes, she said, and many hotels and campsites have also offered space to those in need.
Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti was in a meeting discussing last week’s earthquake with the head of the civil protection agency and the governor of the region when the new earthquake hit. He said: “The state will do all what needs to be done, in the quickest way, to assure the return to normal life to such a special and productive region of the country.”
